Welcome,

The Phambili Initiative is a youth led, peer-mentoring initiative that aims to address the high first year of tertiary education drop-out rate among recent high school graduates.

Established in 2017

Vision

Developing passionate and purpose-driven high school graduates.

Mission

Equipping learners with knowledge and leadership attributes to maximise their post-secondary school potential.

OUR FLAGSHIP PROJECT

The Mentorship Programme

Making connections

Through one-on-one, years long mentorship.

Every year, a cohort of high school finalists (mentees) is selected to be mentored by high impact tertiary education students in each learner's preferred field of study. These tertiary level mentors are recruited to help smoothen the non-academic aspect of transition from high school to tertiary education.

Sharing information

Through interactive workshops and campus tours,

Organisation and guest speakers equip learners with the know how on:

  • Choosing the right course,

  • Financially readiness (NSFAS, ) and

  • Adjusting to tertiary education life.
